In the Pacific Northwest, there are no shortage of race venues to choose from, but sometimes the best motivation for joining a particular race may be to support the causes that the race helps financially sustain and keep going. Youth Dynamics FUNd Run is offering such motivation by helping fund Youth Dynamics work in Portland. This includes giving urban teens the opportunity to participate in experiential learning, team building, and outdoor adventure programs. Of course, if you are unable to attend the run, there is an option to make a donation. Youth Dynamics is a faith-based non profit and you can learn more about their goals and mission statement on their website.
The event itself offers great prizes (including a whitewater rafting trip for 8 with YD on the Deschutes River for the top fundraiser). The event is family friendly with a Kids’ sack race and other fun activities throughout the day. There is a 3K option available as well.
The event will be hosted in North Portland at Pier Park with it’s towering Evergreen trees and paved and unpaved paths, play area for the kids, and picnic areas. Parking is available on the street.
