Race Preview: 29th Annual OHS Doggie Dash (1.5 and 2.5 miler) – 5/14/16

The 1.5 mile “Doggie Dash Classic” will begin on SW Naito Parkway near Stark St. Then proceed down Naito Parkway to the Salmon St. fountains. Participants will turn north along the park’s seawall and return south on Naito Parkway. Please note that this route is for walkers only.
The 2.5 mile “Bridge to Bridge” route uses the same starting and ending points as the 1.5 mile route, but will take participants over the Hawthorne Bridge, along the Eastbank Esplanade, over the Steel Bridge, and back to Waterfront Park. This route is open to both walkers and runners both bipedal and four legged.
Packet Pickup will be available on the morning of the race, but if possible, avoid crowds and long lines by attending one of these three pre race packet pick up times.
- Monday, May 9th at the Oregon Humane Society (1067 NE Columbia Boulevard, Portland) from 11 am–7 pm.
- Tuesday, May 10th at the Old Spaghetti Factory (located at 715 SW Bancroft Street, Portland, OR 97239) from 11 am–7 pm
- Thursday, May 12th at Clear Channel (13333 SW 68th Parkway, Tigard, OR 97223) from 4 pm–7 pm (At this location, participants will be able to meet OHS dogs for adoption.
Race Details:
When: May 14th
7:30 am- 1pm “Pet Festival”
7:30 am- registration tent opens up for day of race registration or packet pickup for those who pre register. (Do hurry if you plan to register at the event! Registration closes at 8:30 am.)
9:00 am- first wave of runners, all other waves will be for walkers.
Where: Tom McCall Waterfront Park
Registration: Register online before April 29th to save $5 (with code lastchance) or before online registration closes at 11:30 pm on May 12th. Registration is $35 with the option to participate as an individual or join a team. Take a printed out form in to the OHS or mailed in before May 7th, or print it out and bring it with you for day of event registration. Those not interested in attending the event, but would like to fundraise are encouraged to register as a “cat napper” (free of cost).
