Race Preview: 2016 Community Action Superhero Dash

Dust off your superhero costume, gather your sidekicks, climb into the Batmobile, and head to Salem for the Community Action Superhero Dash on May 14. This costume-themed run is for all ages and species (in other words, your super dog is welcome at this event.)

Held at Riverfront Park, this event is a fundraiser for Community Action Agency, an organization dedicated to fighting poverty. This year’s funds will go towards helping those who need to purchase ID in order to be able to find housing, gain employment, or access services. The funds will also help in purchasing monthly bus passes to help those who are in need of transportation.

The Superhero Dash includes a 10K, 5K, and Kids’ 1K. The 10K is for runners only, while the 5K is open to all. The Kids’ 1K is for those aged 10 and under. The course is a 5K loop with 10K runners completing the loop twice. All 3 races will be chip-timed.
