It’s rare that a race course – the route map itself – is a work of art, but the organizers of the Hosford Husky Hustle 5K Fun Run, have created a masterpiece! Taking advantage of the geometry of the Ladds Addition neighborhood and the local Rose Gardens, the race takes runners and walkers on an aesthetically pleasing jaunt among the blooms and along the sidewalks, and traces a symmetrical pattern worthy of a tapestry or a stained glass window.
The race is a fundraiser for Hosford Middle School, with proceeds going to the Hosford Parent Teacher Student Association and the Shu Ren Mandarin Immersion Support Program. Special features of the event include a raffle with great prizes (including Portland Thorns tickets), post-race snacks and photos, and entertainment by the Hosford Middle School band.

The artistic 5k course takes runners and walkers on an aesthetically pleasing tour of the Ladds Addition Rose Gardens.
With safety in mind, the organizers ask you to leave your dogs and your headphones at home (your pooches can enjoy your music on the couch while you’re out running). Strollers are welcome, but should start at the back to avoid congestion. The entire race will take place on the sidewalks and the streets will be open to traffic, so be aware of your surroundings.
