Race Preview: 2016 REI Trail Run Series #1 (Champoeg State Park)

REI has been an outdoor outfitter and educator for many years. Classes offered through the stores range from photography to wilderness survival, kayaking to rockclimbing, biking to hiking, and many topics in between. This year, REI is organizing a trail run series, which takes place on the second Saturday of the month at state parks near the Portland Metro area. The first run in the series will be on Saturday, April 16th at Champoeg State Park.

The run starts at 9am. There is no on-site registration (pre-register here for $15) and no timing, so show up ready to run. All speeds and abilities are welcome; this event is rated “beginner” and “easy active” by REI. The top three males and top three females to cross the finish line will be awarded a stainless steel pint glass. All participants receive some REI swag and post-race refreshments.

The second run in the series will be on Saturday, May 14th, at Silver Falls State Park.
