This is the 5th year of the Race 4 Hope, which is a 5K race in Beaverton that benefits the Hope 4 Widows and Orphans organization. (For more information on the organization, click here.) Here’s how the race proceeds will help the local community:
Proceeds from the Race4Hope 5K run/walk will continue the work we are currently doing with widows and orphans both locally and Internationally as well as helping local shelters in our community. Some of the shelters we’ve partnered with include the Union Gospel Mission’s Life Change Center for Women and Children in Beaverton Oregon. Reaching out with Hope in Action our mobile outreach touching the lives of women and children in our community who are sick, lonely and need a helping hand.
As you can see in the picture, the race will take place on Saturday, April 23, at the civilized hour of 10:00 a.m. Registration is available online here for $35, which includes a race shirt as well as post-race music and food. The race will take place on Fanno Creek Trail, starting at 9150 SW Downing Drive. Beaverton police officers will be controlling the major intersections, such as Hall Blvd.
