Ready to hit the trails to see how your training is shaping up? This looks like an awesome event; I wish I could be there. Superfit Productions presents a 10-ish mile train run called Mastondon. Superfit Productions will donate 10% of race proceeds to Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Central Oregon.
The course is going to be stellar – not only the view, including the gorgeous Deschutes river, Cline Butte, and the beautiful mountains in Central Oregon, but the course is fairly flat, with a ~400′ elevation change. You’ll be running on the Maston Trail Network, which is a BLM trail located between Tumalo and Redmond, right by Bend.
An aid station (as close to the half-way point as possible) on the course will have water and energy drinks. Please, not just for this race but for all events, if you take your gels or other nutrition with you on the course, please dispose of it properly. The Mastondon event takes this seriously (thank you), such that if you don’t dispose of your garbage properly, it could lead to disqualification.
Registration is available online in advance for $40, until February 21, then a price increase will take place. Bib pick-up will occur at Footzone (842 NW Wall Street in Downtown Bend) on March 5th from Noon – 6 p.m. You may also register at that time. Race morning bib pick up will begin at 7:45 a.m. at the Maston Trail Head.
