Coach Jim’s FREE Saturday long training runs return November 7, 2015

Now that the 2015 Portland Marathon is in the books and the PMC has wrapped up, Coach Jim's free Saturday morning runs are returning on November 7th. These runs are set up for runners looking for a long run group at mileage planned for half marathon and marathon distances, culminating at the ORRC Vernonia Half and Full Marathon and the Boston Marathon, both in April 2016. All runners are enthusiastically welcomed, and Coach Jim's amazing pace group leaders (all volunteers) make sure that no one is ever left behind. If you are looking for a great group to run with and plenty of good conversation to make the long runs more fun - this is the group for you. First of all - join the "Coach Jim's Elite Runners In Training" facebook group. (Elite refers to the participants awesomeness as a person, not necessarily their speed as a runner.) Any changes to the schedule will be posted there, and he often shares other info with his runners via facebook. Run Oregon will post each Saturday's run information the preceding Tuesday at 10a as well. Please note that details are subject to change, depending on trail and road conditions and any safety concerns that might pop up. Below is the tentative schedule for this winter/spring season. 

All dates are Saturdays.

November 14 -Grand Central Bakery on N Fremont; 10 miles
November 21 – Lululemon Bridgeport; 12 miles
November 28 – Pizza Roma (near Mt. Tabor); 12 miles

December 5 – Road Runner Sports in Portland; 13 miles
December 12 – Grand Central Bakery on N Fremont; 14 miles
December 19 – Lululemon Bridgeport; 15 miles
December 26 – Pizza Roma (near Mt. Tabor); 16 miles

2016 Runs

You may have picked up on a pattern – the first Saturday of each month is at Road Runner Sports in Tualatin, the 2nd Saturday is at Grand Central Bakery on NE Fremont, the 3rd Saturday is from Lululemon Bridgeport, and the 4th Saturday is from Pizza Roma. The “TBD” date is a 5th Saturday of the month and no doubt Coach Jim will come up with a great course for his runners!
