Beaverton 5k Celebration Parade Run Kicks Off 58th Annual Celebration Parade on September 12th

The City of Beaverton will host their 58th Annual Celebration Parade on Saturday, September 12th and a timed Beaverton Celebration Parade 5K Run/Walk will kick it off at 9:00AM. Walkers and runners will take advantage of the sections of the parade route, beginning in Griffith Park, making a loop through Schiffler Park and finishing back at Griffith Park. With a flat and paved course, it’s perfect for a novice runner looking for a fun 5k or a serious athlete going for a PR. Plus, it’s a closed course so the only traffic will be spectators setting up along the parade route. For kids 10 and under there is a Kid’s Dash at 8:45AM. The Run/Walk begins at 9:00AM and strollers are welcome.

Online registration and mail-in registration are offered. The 5k costs $12 for runners and walkers or $22 for the event and commemorative shirt. Day-of-registration is available for $15 and a limited number of shirts will be available race day for purchase. Packet Pick-Up and day-of-registration will be available on September 12th from 7:30AM-8:45AM. Pre-registered participants can pick up their packets before 8:45AM. The Kid’s Dash is free for children 10 and under, but requires a contact number and waiver so registration is still required.

The Beaverton Celebration Parade Run kicks off the Beaverton Celebration Parade and raises money for the Beaverton Police Activities League (P.A.L.). Located on Allen Boulevard, the Beaverton P.A.L. works to bring kids, law enforcement and the community together, building bonds with programs and through education. The run and parade are just a portion of the weekend fun. There will be a pooch parade following the celebration parade, an evening market Saturday night and a Beaverton Bike Ride on Sunday morning. The Beaverton Celebration Parade 5k Run/Walk is a perfect start to a fun-filled weekend celebration in the suburbs.
