Race preview: 2015 Gateway To The Gorge Half Marathon, 8-Miler, and 5K, Saturday, September 12th, Troutdale

The 3rd Annual Gateway To The Gorge Half Marathon hits the streets of downtown Troutdale on Saturday, September 12th. The event also includes an 8-Miler and a 5k. The race is a benefit for Insight Ultrasound.

The half marathon course offers runners plenty of variety and challenge, with a hilly tour of downtown Troutdale, scenic views, park paths, and a jaunt along the Sandy River on the Historic Columbia River Highway.

The 8-miler course is similar to the Troutdale Trot route, with an early climb into Troutdale, followed by a long descent to the Sandy River, and a return trip on the Historic Highway.

The 5k is a brisk out-and-back along the old highway, heading upriver along the Sandy for the first half, then returning downhill to the finish in historic downtown Troutdale.
