The start of the 2014 Mountain Madness race.
It is said that the view from the top of the mountain is always better than from the bottom, and it is usually worth the effort to get there. You’d be mad not to make the effort to get yourself up to Sandy, Oregon on Saturday, July 11th, for the Mountain Madness 5k and 10k!
This race is on a combination of road and trail that meanders through the sweet mountain community of Sandy. The event is being hosted by the Mt. Hood Athletic Club where it will start at 8 AM. Parking will be available on-site but is somewhat limited so race officials recommend carpooling. Lockers will also be available at the club for gear storage but you’ll need to provide your own lock. The race finishes at Sandy High School.
Participants will receive a shirt, race bib, and goodies at the finish including food, coffee, beer, and a massage with their entry fee of $35 for the 5k or $40 for the 10k. Registration is available online. Packet pickup will be offered the evening before the race from 5 PM to 8 PM at the Mt. Hood Athletic Club, or the morning of the race from 6 AM to 7 AM.
