Registration is Open for the 2015 Portland Parks $5 5k Series

The Portland Parks $5 5k Series is back, dates are set and registration is open.  It’s a great deal and fun way to explore parks in the Portland area, two of the reasons spots fill up fast. This is a family friendly event and strollers are welcome. Dogs will not be allowed on the course.  These are chip timed and a great opportunity to work on some speed work.  Runners can purchase a race shirt for $18 at the event or $15 at early packet pick up, the Saturday before the run. Make sure to bring cash or check for a shirt, since credit/debit cards aren’t accepted.

Portland Parks 5k Series Dates:

May 17th at Fernhill Park

June 14th at Lents Park

July 12th at Gabriel Park

August 16th at Laurelhurst Park

September 13th at Westmoreland Park

October 18th at Pier Park

Check out the Portland Park website to get a map of each course. The runs begin at 9AM and the course stays open until 11AM, so all speeds are welcome. Kids under 17 are free and there is a Kids 1k Run at each of the parks as well, for participants 8 and under. There are three ways to register, you can call in (503-823-2525), register in person at any of the Portland Park Community Centers or online. Portland Parks offers a waiting list, so make sure to sign up if your first choice is full and cross your fingers. There’s a reason the Portland Parks $5 5k Series fills up fast. It’s a steal, every month has a new park to run and families are encouraged to come out together. Don’t miss out if you’re interested in this, register today.
