Race Preview: 2015 ORRC Up The Lazy River

If you haven’t run Up The Lazy River 10K and Masters Championship, I recommend you give it a try this Memorial Day. Starting at Mary S. Young Park in West Linn, this race boasts a truly beautiful course. True to its name, “Up” and “River” are key words at this event.

Part of the course follows the scenic Willamette River. Runners and walkers are treated to beautiful views, large shade trees, and a downhill finish. But, as the name suggests, this course involves a lot of “up” as you run the undulating hills of West Linn. If you enjoy the challenge of climbing hills, this race will not disappoint.

This race is chip timed, but as it is a Masters Championship, it will be scored according to gun time. However, your chip time will be available in the post-race results and at the event.

Put on by ORRC (Oregon Road Runners Club,) this race is part of their 10K series.

Pre-registered runners and walkers will receive a pair of custom made Up the Lazy River socks by Fitsok. Age group awards and raffle prizes will be awarded after the race.
