Race Preview: Richland Run Fest – Richland, WA

Walking trail next to the Columbia River in Richland, WA.

Are you looking to BQ (Boston Qualify) this year? Looking for a “Destination Race” as well? Maybe you should check out a race in a new area, but still be able to make it home and sleep in your own bed? Maybe you should check out the Richland Run Fest, which will feature a full marathon, 1/2 marathon and 5K with costs of $80, $50 and $25, respectively.

Richland is a great little community that makes up one-third of what are known as the Tri-Cities in Southeast Washington. Basically, make your way to Hermiston/Umatilla and head north on Highway 82.

You are here!

If you aren’t familiar with the city or the course, check out the map here. It almost looks like a football goalpost with a couple out and backs along two rivers – the Yakima and the Columbia.

Aid stations with Gatorade will be around every two miles and energy gel at the halfway point of both longer distances. Shirts will need to be ordered by  Sunday, February 22 at 5pm to ensure receipt, but all racers of the half and full will receive a finisher’s medal.

If you have any questions or want to register, check out the website or email Ron at rwhayden@charter.net.

When: Saturday, February 28th, 2015 at 9am

Where: The Fingernail in Howard Amon Park, Richland, Washington
