Race Preview: Dr Seuss 5K Fun Run/Walk – Redmond

Sage Elementary School – Redmond

Sage Elementary PTC presents the 2nd annual Dr. Seuss Family Friendly 5k Run/Walk in Redmond, OR. The race is billed as a family event and the cost is certainly family friendly! The race benefits Sage school and the PTC plans to use the funds from the race for the music and arts programs this coming spring, as well as hoping to raise additional funds for field trips. There are already several local key sponsors but the school is hopeful to find a couple more.

Last year, the race drew 175 participants and based on the price, race organizer Celeste Harding is hopeful to surpass that number. The first 200 entries will get a race shirt and medals/awards will be given for top finishers in each age category. There are also some fun giveaways planned following the race.

The course should be a quick one as it heads south away from the school and follows Canal Blvd. Racers will turn around at Ridgeview High School and head back to Sage for a fairly flat run. Celeste says that all the volunteers out on the course will be teachers from the school, as well as members of the PTC.

When: Saturday, February 28th starting at 10am.
