Run the Wurst race of your life at the 2015 Wurst 5k (and new 10k!) Run in Mt. Angel

wurst-5k-runThe 3rd annual Wurst 5k and 10k Run is back with a new date and a new distance in 2015. The beautiful Mt. Angel race is taking place on Saturday, February 14 instead of its historical March time slot.

This race goes beyond just participating in a timed distance race – it’s a kickoff for the Wurstfest, a delicious extravaganza within the amazing Mt. Angel Festhalle.  Each entry will include:

  • Entry to Mt. Angel Wurstfest
  • Complimentary beverage
  • German Bierstein

Starting line of the Wurst 5k Run. The Festhalle, inside and out, is pretty incredible (and warm)!

Check out a recap of my 2013 event to see what to expect. The 5k course can be seen here, and follows the typical route that a few Mt. Angel races have (there’s not really that many streets in Mt. Angel to begin with!). Expect a first half climb to the pinnacle and then a roaring speedy downhill to the finish line. In fact, the course is even described as, “It’s all uphill, until it’s downhill.”

The 10k course is still in process, but is described as having “some hills in the first mile and then it’s fairly flat on country roads surrounding Mt. Angel.”

The after party is pretty dang awesome. The inside is warm, beer is flowing and meat is being cooked up. There are many booths inside to purchase standard German faire at (bring a little extra cash), and live Polka will be in full force.
