When you hear the word “freezer” you probably think of something that keeps your food cold. When you think of Bend in late January you probably also think about cold, namely your poor toes. Honestly, considering the temps in recent years at about this time, no one would blame you for being concerned about running a race at 10 degrees. For this reason exactly, the nice folks at Fleet Feet of Bend have aptly named this race, which marks its 4th year, The Freezer! (I can sense your excitement as you consider the wind chill factor).
In all seriousness, the event supports local charities, including The Bethlehem Inn and the Bend High School Walking Club. For a very nominal fee, one can enter either race. However, racers are encouraged to also bring donations of clothes and/or canned food to aid the shelter.
Both the 5K and 10K routes start and end at the Fleet Feet and are also posted on the event website here. You are welcome to register online or in their store.
Following the race, local vendors will provide snacks, while Fleet Feet owner Scott White plans to whip up pancakes. Naturally, all racers are encouraged to check out the store before or after they run.

Where: Fleet Feet Sports – 1320 NW Galveston, Bend, OR 97701
