RRCA-certified James Mattern has been coordinating Saturday training runs for years, and this year will continue the fun. Free and open to everyone, led by experienced pace group leaders on routes selected for their accuracy, access to restrooms, safety, scenery, and - of course - the food at the finish; Coach Jim's Training Runs will prepare you for your spring distance event. Runs are planned so you'll be ready for a mid-April spring marathon ... such as the ORRC Vernonia Marathon! However, if a half marathon is more your speed, Coach Jim designs his runs so that if you prefer not to run the full distance - you can!

The schedule is as below, but if anything should change we’ll let you know. Tuesdays at 10a we will post a reminder about that Saturday’s Run.

This Saturday is the last weekend without a pace-group-led Coach Jim run, but he recommends 10 miles for those of you wanting to jump in with both feet to be ready for next week’s run.

Each run will be on a Saturday, heading out at 8a. Runners will group up at the start location starting around 7:30a to catch up with each other; then you’ll get organized into pace groups and Coach Jim will go over the route. Here’s the schedule (Locations after the schedule):

11/1/14: Lululemon Pearl District – 10 miles

11/8/14: Grand Central Bakery on NE Fremont – 10 miles

11/15/14: Lululemon Bridgeport – 12 miles

11/22/14: Pizza Roma – 12 miles

11/29/14: Fanno Creek – 13 miles

12/6/14: Lululemon Pearl District – 14 miles

12/13/14: Grand Central Bakery – 15 miles

12/20/14: Lululemon Bridgeport – 16 miles

12/27/14: Pizza Roma – 16 miles

1/3/15: Lululemon Pearl District – 17 miles

1/10/15: Grand Central Bakery – 18 miles

1/17/15: Lululemon Bridgeport – 18 miles

1/24/15: Pizza Roma – 19 miles

1/31/15: Road Runner Sports – 20 miles

2/7/15: Lululemon Pearl District – 20 miles

2/14/15: Grand Central Bakery – 20 miles

2/21/15: Lululemon Bridgeport – 16 miles

2/28/15: Pizza Roma – 20 miles

3/7/15: Lululmon Pearl District – 16 miles

3/14/15: Grand Central Bakery – 20 miles
