Pledge your miles and stop HIV transmission in its’ tracks!

650 babies are born HIV positive every single day in sub-Saharan Africa. You can help change this number through your weekly mileage… no, really.

TURN YOUR MILES (RED) is an eight-week campaign that empowers walkers, runners and fitness enthusiasts worldwide to make a collective contribution that will save lives and effect change. For each Nike+ Running mile pledged to (RED) on www.nike.com/onestep4red, Bank of America will donate 40 cents – up to $1 million – toward the fight to eradicate mother-to-child HIV transmission.

(RED) is working tirelessly to stop mother-to-child HIV transmission by providing antiretrovirals (ARVS) to HIV medical clinics and programs in sub-Saharan Africa. These ARVS when taken daily, can prevent an HIV-positive pregnant woman from passing the virus to her unborn baby.

Head to www.nike.com/onestep4red and click pledge. If you don’t have a Nike+ account, it is super easy to make one and get started. Do your run, sync your miles, and BOOM you’re done! Easy peasy, guys. If users pledge enough miles to reach the 1 million dollar goal that translates into 2.5 million days of medication provision for expectant mothers.

Earlier this year, Bank of America announced a $10 million investment toward delivering the first AIDS-free generation in over 30 years and Turn Your Miles (RED) is one portion of this investment.

What are you waiting for?! Go pledge now and get moving!
