Now this is what I’m talking about! Mix college football, a tailgate party and a 5k or 10k race in Tigard’s beautiful Cook Park. Does it get any better? If this sounds fun to you are in for a treat on Saturday September 27th at the 2014 College Raceday 5k and 10k.
Along with a 5k and 10k event there will also be a 1k run for the youngsters so be sure to bring the whole family. There isn’t a course map on the website but I’m familiar enough with Cook Park to know it will be relatively flat with paved trails and roads either distance.
Break out your colors, paint up your face and get a little crazy before the game. You can even reserve a spot and bring out your own tailgate gear and show everyone else you know how to party. Instructions on reserving a space can be found on the event website.
There’ll be lots of extras including race shirt, tailgate grub, tons of free stuff and chances to win some big prizes. Even cooler is that 100% of the proceeds go to support local high school athletic programs. The 5k/10k current price is $45 for adults and the kids pricing varies depending on age.
