5 races for $75 is what you’ll get when you sign up for the ORRC 5k series – 5 races spaced out throughout the spring and summer, with the first one this Saturday at the ORRC Hagg Lake Runs 5k.
Read the ORRC 5k Series website for full details.
Each one of the 5k races supports a different 5k charity, the brilliant idea of ORRC 5k Series Coordinator Beckie Tempel. While the series is brand-new for 2014, she’s got each race set up to accept donations specific to each of these organizations:
Race #1: ORRC Hagg Lake 5k on May 3, 2014 benefits Donate Life NW, accepting cash donations
Race #2: ORRC Summer Solstice 5k on June 21, 2014 benefits Tucker’s Toy Box, accepting cash or new, unwrapped toys
Race #3: ORRC Garlic Festival 5k on August 9, 2014 benefits the Bonnie L. Hays Animal Shelter, accepting cash, pet food, and select pet supplies
Race #4: WVRR Dayton Fiesta Run 5k on September 6, 2014 benefits Dayton Grade School, accepting cash and school supply donations
Race #5: ORRC Blue Lake 5k on October 11, 2014 benefits Transition Projects, accepting cash, clothing including coats, blankets, socks, and gently used running shoes
The ORRC 5k series only has space for 200 participants, and when you sign up it takes care of your registration for all of these races – no more forms to fill out! You can register for the whole series at the ORRC Hagg Lake 5k this weekend, even if you’d already registered for that race separately, and get the discount applied.
