Race Preview : Superfan 5k in West Linn

superfan-5k-logoSuper Bowl XLVIII is still a month away but if you want to root for your team, or any other sports team for that matter, register now for the 1st annual Superfan 5K happening the day before “The Big Game.”

For this race, participants need to don their favorite sports apparel to help the community raise money for the FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes). Racers can support their local high school team, collegiate team, professional team, or any other kind of team. This is a non-sport discriminating race, meaning football does not need to be the only sport represented. If there is an awesome Ping-Pong team you have been following and would like to support, put on those short shorts and lace up those Mizuno’s.

Dress attire is as follows: the more extravagant the better!

WHEN: Saturday, Feb 1, 2014, 9:00AM

WHERE: Mary S. Young Park (West Linn) Directions here

PRICE:  Early bird = $25 (until January 25), then goes up to $30; Day of race registration $35; Register Here

GOOD TO KNOW INFO:

  • This race is a chip-timed trail run.

  • Water and food will be available during the race.

  • First 200 participants receive a Nike Dri-fit race shirt.

  • There will be a kid’s dash, post-race activities, and a raffle.

  • Stroller racers are welcomed and encouraged.
