Floss & Run Brings a New 5K to Portland this October

Looking for a new fall 5K with a little something different? The inaugural Floss & Run is coming to Rock Creek Country Club in northwest Portland on Sunday, October 18, with a 5K run, 5K walk, and kids 1K — all benefiting the Dental Foundation of Oregon’s Tooth Taxi.

The 5K course takes runners through the golf course on a path surrounded by giant Douglas firs. It’s described as gently challenging, making it a good option whether you’re looking to race or simply enjoy a fall morning outside.

And yes, this race is leaning into the theme. Participants receive a swag bag, finisher medal, and a chance to participate in a putting contest. Dental-themed costumes are also encouraged, so feel free to embrace your inner toothbrush.

Most importantly, proceeds support the Tooth Taxi, the Dental Foundation of Oregon’s mobile dental clinic that provides free dental care and oral health education to children across the state.

A fall 5K, a golf course, giant Douglas firs and a good cause? That’s something worth smiling about.
