As both a mom and an employee at a public school, I see how much we need educational funding. So races like the 2026 Making Strides for Education 5k, which is hosted by The Hillsboro Schools Foundation, are close to my heart. The proceeds from this race help support K-12 students in the Hillsboro School District.
This 5k route is flat and fast. It’s entirely on sidewalks with no major street crossings. There are two MAX crossings to be aware of. The course starts at The Jerry Willey platform at Orenco Station and heads toward Hidden Creek Park, and then east along Main Street before returning along Century Blvd. You can check out the course map here.
The cost of the race is $35, and the price goes up to $40 if you wait until day of race registration. Families or 3 or more registering will get a 30% discount with code FAMILY30. Register by September 10th to guarantee a shirt!
