The wraparound design provides excellent coverage without feeling oversized. At just 36 grams, they’re impressively lightweight and never felt heavy on longer runs. Once they were on, they simply disappeared, which is exactly what I want from a pair of running sunglasses.

It’s incredibly intuitive. There are no buttons to hunt for or complicated settings to learn. The swipe gesture quickly becomes second nature, and the visual difference is immediate. Rather than hoping your lenses catch up with the conditions around you, you’re always in control.
Living and running in Oregon, where a route can alternate between bright sunshine and dense tree cover every few minutes, this technology makes a surprising amount of sense. Whether you’re transitioning from an open ridgeline into heavy forest or simply dealing with our ever-changing weather, being able to instantly adjust your vision is genuinely useful rather than just another flashy feature.
Battery
Yes, these sunglasses need to be charged. That may sound a little strange at first, especially since they don’t include speakers, phone connectivity, or any of the “smart glasses” features we’ve started seeing elsewhere. The battery exists for one reason: powering the electrochromic lens technology.
The battery life is rated for up to 28 days, and POVEC helps stretch that even further with a clever Fold-to-Power design. Simply unfold the temples and the glasses automatically power on. Fold them closed when you’re done, and they shut themselves off. There’s nothing extra to remember, which is great for a forgetful person like me.
Price:
The price is, well, substantial—$249 is nothing to sneeze at. The C1 certainly lands in the premium performance category, but unlike many high-end sunglasses, you’re paying for technology that genuinely changes how you interact with your eyewear instead of simply shaving off a few grams or introducing another lens color.
