The 2026 Boring Marathon is Anything But

Don’t let the name fool you, the 2026 Boring Marathon is a great race! This event, which will be on September 13th this year, also features a half marathon, a 10k, and 5k in case the full marathon isn’t in the cards for you. There’s a kid’s mile too, so bring the whole family. If you do decide you want to go for the full 26.2 this year, the Boring Marathon is a Boston Qualifier.

The marathon starts at 6:30AM and the half takes off an hour later at 7:30. The 10k starts at 8:00AM and lastly the 5k will begin at 8:30AM. The kids take off for their run at 9:30AM. If you are a marathon runner who anticipates taking longer than 6 hours out on the course, there is an early start option at 5:30AM.

There is no official time limit for the day, but aid stations and volunteers will only be available for 6 hours. The finish line will be open until the last finisher comes through.

The race will be at Boring Station Trailhead Park. There will be parking available at Boring Middle School and up towards Naas Elementary. There is also parking at Boring-Damascus Grange, on Wally Street, and neighborhoods around the start. There is a parking map photo on the website on the “Route” tab.

Aid stations will be located along the course approximately 2-3 miles apart. There will also be porta potties at the start and finish as well as at major aid stations. Aid stations will have water and electrolyte drinks as well as food such as gummy bears, M&M’s and pretzels.

All runners will receive a 3D printed medal, a tech race shirt, and some food and drinks to celebrate victory at the end of the race.

All proceeds from the race go to the middle and high school track and field and cross-country teams.  Discounts are available to members of Marathon Maniacs, Half Fanatics, 50-State Marathon Club (and Half Marathon Club), or Eastwind Running and Endurance so if that’s you, contact the race director for a code. You’ll also get a discount if you are students/faculty of Sam Barlow High School or Damascus or Orient Middle Schools.
