Run Oregon Road Trip to The Inn at the 5th

At Run Oregon, we love running—no surprise there. But we also cherish the Pacific Northwest and everything it has to offer. While running is a big part of who we are, it doesn’t entirely define us. Our Road Trip features celebrate the best of both worlds: showcasing local non-running experiences while highlighting nearby running opportunities to help you maximize your adventure.

The latest installment in this series focuses on The Inn at the 5th, a luxury hotel in Eugene’s vibrant 5th Street Market area, which serves as a fantastic home base for any running enthusiast.

First the Running:

Eugene, fondly known as Tracktown USA, is a runner’s paradise. From iconic trails to scenic paths, the options are endless. Here are some great places to check out if you haven’t – or if it’s been a while.

  • Amazon Trails
  • Ridgeline Trail System
  • Pre’s Trail and Alton Baker Park

Whether you prefer paved routes or rugged trails, Eugene’s running scene has something for everyone. You don’t have to venture far for an excellent run. Here’s a 4.3-mile route starting right at the hotel.

  1. Head north on High Street until it ends at the South Bank Path.
  2. Follow the path clockwise, crossing the Greenway Bike Bridge.
  3. Continue along the North Bank Path and return via the Peter DeFazio Bridge.

This scenic loop is easily customizable for longer distances and offers peaceful views of Eugene’s natural running beauty.

Races to Plan Around

Eugene hosts some incredible races throughout the year. Consider timing your visit with one of these events:

  • Eugene Marathon: A premier marathon and half-marathon finishing at the iconic Hayward Field (April 2025 registration is Open!)
