Conquer the Summit: Previewing the Tabor Challenge

Everyone’s favorite goat track 5K is back for 2024! The Tabor Challenge is an up and down event that features 3 reservoirs, some paved road, some trail, some stairs, and a couple hills. What started in 2015 as a way to honor a fallen hero in Thomas Cameron, has continued as a way to provide scholarships to outstanding high school students at Grover Cleveland High School.

It’s also a fun local race in the heart of Portland, amidst an iconic park, and full of hundreds of runners. For those that have wandered through Mt Tabor before, whether walking, running, or biking, the trails and paved roads here are winding and gently rolling.

They are also tree covered, by mighty firs and cedars, which provide a forest-like canopy in the heart of the city. It’s the perfect spot for a 5K!

Details:

When: Saturday, April 13th. Race starts at 10am
Where: Mt Tabor, starting at the information center (off SE 69th)
