Run Run Rudolph at the Reindeer Run

The charm of a small community fun run that not only supports multiple charitable organizations but also goes above and beyond in every possible way is one you don’t want to miss. The annual Reindeer Run in St. Helens, Oregon, does just that!

Among the perks of the December 2, 2023 race are an indoor commons area complete with a fireplace for participants to stay warm, inside restrooms, coffee, cocoa, snacks, music, and massages.

The Reindeer Run has made a huge impact on the community of St. Helens. The race is hosted by Columbia River Foursquare Church, and all the proceeds are donated to organizations in the community. More than $120,000 has been raised since the inception of the race in 2010 to organizations such as the Food Bank, Home Delivered Meals, Toy n Joy, and the SHPD Reserve Officer Training Academy. This year, the Reindeer Run will benefit the Columbia Pacific Food Bank and The St. Helens Senior Center.

The Reindeer Run offers an event for everyone! There are three distances; 5k, 10k, and a half-marathon, open to both runners and walkers on out-and-back style courses. All participants receive a long-sleeve Reindeer Run tech tee-shirt and the half-marathon finishers will be given a custom commemorative medal. To add to the festive atmosphere, participants are encouraged to dress up in costume.

The winner of the costume contest will be awarded with a free entry into next year’s race. Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in each event.
