Run Oregon will see you at the 2023 Rogue Marathon & Half Marathon in October!

If you were to pick a place in Oregon that feels definitively like Oregon should, Ashland is a city that would for sure top the list. Many people think Central Oregon is the place to be, and I too adore this region immensely. But Southern Oregon is low key and beautiful and offers such a gift to us all. And amoung those offerings is the 2023 Rogue Marathon, Half Marathon, & 10k.

This year, the 2023 Rogue Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10k will be on Saturday, October 14th and it’s my next big race this year. I’m so looking forward to the lush scenary and the flat (and fast!) course. It’s a Boston Marathon qualifier for those wanting to go the full 26.2 and it’s sure to be both memorable and scenic.

The full marathon will start bright and early at 6:50AM at Emigrant Lake County Park in Ashland. The course will take Bear Creek Greeway and end at Pear Blossom Park in Medford. Porta potties will be available at the start, as well as a drop bag option so you can ditch any clothes at the last minute. There are 13 aid stations along the course with water, electrolyte drink, and toilet paper. Energy gel and fruit will be available at 4 aid stations as well.

Any vehicles parking at Emigrant Lake will have to pay $7.00 and there will be no ride back to the start if you park there. There will be bus transportation (located in front of the parking garage on 6th Street between Bartlett and Riverside) to the start of the marathon beginning at 5:35AM. The last bus to the marathon start leaves at 5:50AM so don’t be late!!

The half marathon starts at 8:00 at Clearwater Subdivision in Talent. There is no parking at the start line and bus transportation begins at 7:00AM. The last bus leaves at 7:20AM. Porta potties will be available at the start line and the race continues on the Bear Creek Greenway from Talent and ends at Pear Blosson Park. As with the marathon, there’s a bag drop option for the half marathon.

The 10k starts at 9:00AM at Bear Creek Park in Medford.

Finally, there’s a Kids 1-Mile race for children under 13 years old which starts at 10:30AM at the corner of East 6th St and North Bartlett St in Medford. The kids will run southwest on East 6th Street before following the race course to the finish line in Pear Blossom Park.

You can check out all the course maps here.

This event has an amazing prize purse as well. The top 3 male and female winners of the marathon will get anywhere from $400 to $1100 and the half marathon winners will get $165 to $825. 10k winners get $50 to $220, and even the kids 1-Mile has cash prizes from $60 to $100.

Bib pickup will be on Friday, October 13th from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Common Block Brewing in Medford. Stay for a pre-race meal or a delicious beverage.

I’m looking forward to this race and I hope to see you there this year!!
