Do you hate the pre-dawn alarm clock on race morning?
Do you dread hills that go on forever?
Do you fear the impact of race fees on your bank account?
Then I have the perfect race for you…
Vancouver Lake Half Marathon & 4 Mile Run is on Sunday, February 26 with the earliest participants starting at a lovely 9:30am and other events and runners starting later on. Both events start inside the park. The road and a bike path to Frenchman’s Bar provide the out-and-back flatness. There are just some small hills in the final portion and a small bit (where you can see the finish line) on gravel. Five water aid stations will be along the half marathon route.
All finishers earn a medal at the finish line. Participants can also choose to purchase a race shirt for $15. Top half marathon finishers will earn an additional award. And, happylujah, homemade cookies will be back at the after-party.
Race day is limited to 475 participants due to limited parking. By carpooling you can avoid the $3 parking fee.
