The downpour outside my window declares that spring is here in the Pacific Northwest. Here’s hoping that the old saying is true about this March: “In like a lion; out like a lamb.” And speaking of fuzzy white creatures…(how about that for a segue)…
Foot Traffic puts one elaborate and amazing races every year, including the springtime favorite Hop Hop Half. This year’s race is in a new venue but not to worry: they still have huge medals, mimosas, and Peeps! There will also be brunch snacks at the Easter-themed after-party where the Easter Bunny will be hopping around.
This year participants will be hopping around Lacamas Lake for the 5K, 10K, 10-miler, or half marathon distance. The anticipated course (final permits are in progress) includes just one hill and it is early in the race so you get up and over right away. The longer distances include an out-and-back on Lacamas Lake Heritage Trail with asphalt, paved trails and some packed gravel/dirt sections.
Or if you can’t get to the lake on Saturday April 16, then you can earn your medal and more via a virtual race. Turn in your milage and earn your swag!

IS THERE REALLY A PEEPS MARSHMALLOW STATION? Does the Easter Bunny hop? Of course we will! We will have a peeps station on the 5K course and out along the Heritage Trail near the Lake. That means if you do the 5K, you’ll get one chance to refuel with those legendary Easter snacks!
No matter the rain or sun, you are welcome to hop in for this race.
