2021 Run To Get Lucky (Philomath)

How can you not love a race called Run To Get Lucky? This year, you can celebrate St. Patty’s Day with Dirt Road Brewing in Philomath, Oregon and get in in-person race as well. The 2021 Run To Get Lucky 5k/10k/15k/Half Marathon has moved from it’s previous location in downtown Corvallis to Philomath, and your safety during COVID is of the utmost importance. That’s why this race will be carefully be staged over 3 days in March, with only up to 25 people starting over 30 minute periods of time. About 10 racers are expected to be spread out on the course at any given time, and all socially distanced protocols will be enforced. Races will begin on Friday, March 19th at 4:00PM and continue util 6:00PM. Saturday March 20th, races will take place between 2:00PM and 3:30PM, and finally there will be runners released from 2:00PM to 2:30PM on Sunday March 21st. You’ll get to pick your race window when you register, and keep in mind that Sunset will be at 7:25PM when choosing your start time. All courses are an out-and-back design in a low traffic area. Packet pick up will be in the parking lot behind Dirt Road Brewing Friday, Saturday and Sunday as well.

If you are still not comfortable with an in-person race, there is a virtual option for you! Complete your virtual race between March 17th and March 21st and you’ll get a bib and tee-shirt just like everyone else. If you want to feel like you’re a part of the “live” event, there will be a live Start/Finish on Zoom beginning on Saturday March 20th at 10:00AM. You can get your swag by having it mailed (shipping costs apply) or you can pick it up in person. There will be a Virtual awards ceremony on Monday March 21st at 7:00PM on Zoom.  Check out more details on the Virtual Race page on the website.

If you opt for the in-person event, please be aware that there will be no volunteers, traffic control, or aid stations on the course. This is a precaution that race directors are taking to help keep the race as socially distanced and safe as possible. Please be prepared to “self support” and bring your own water and other race-related provisions. The course has been designed to have as few intersections as possible, but please do your best to follow all rules of the road while on the racecourse. You can view the 5k here, 10k here, the 15k here, and the half marathon here on interactive maps.  The timing point for the start and finish will be near the south east corner of eastbound Philomath Blvd and 13th street so you can safely use the crosswalk before starting your race.

Registration includes a race shirt, a commemorative pint glass (first 100 registrants only!) as well as a free beverage (beer, soda, or cider.) Day of race registration doesn’t guarantee a shirt and they will be given out first come first serve that day.
