Foot pain is the worst. Tread Labs to the rescue.

For the past week or so, I have been nursing some foot pain. Basically, I have gone from running about 35 miles/week to only walking 7 to keep my daily streak alive.

It’s awful.

I haven’t had foot issues in a while, but have historically had some flare ups of Plantar Fasciitis over the years. I have high arches and have gone between insoles over the years, but this has gone by the wayside over time and I have been lucky enough to avoid injury. But here I now sit – injured, sore, and complaining about not running. My bad.

We recently received some insoles from Tread Labs and have been putting them to the test on our sore feet the past little bit.

The Pace Insole Kit is a pretty cool system. Instead of receiving a single pair of insoles, they come complete with three different styles – one set each of Pace, Pace Short and Pace Thin top covers – that can be interspersed between multiple shoes in your closet. Simply change the arch support plate between each of the covers via velcro. Each kit comes with an option for low, medium, high, or extra high.

The arch supports are covered by our Million Mile Guarantee. If the arch support ever breaks or loses their shape, contact Tread Labs and they’ll send you a new pair – no questions asked. Tread Labs 2-part support system is pretty awesome as the insoles – if and when they wear down (generally a year of normal usage) – don’t require a full replacement. The sturdy support can continue to be utilized for seemingly years while just replacing the top portions. This is good for the environment and also just a good investment as replacement top covers run around $16 – much less than a full replacement would cost.

In the few weeks since wearing these, I have noticed a marked difference. I have each top in a different pair of shoes – from workout to casual to slippers – meaning that I am supported well no matter what I am doing that day. I’m still not back to running (come on body – heal yourself!), but my feet are as happy as they can be right now. I anticipate putting these into my running shoes when the time is right and getting back at it.
