Are you on a team yet for the Womxn Run The Vote Relay?
This is an epic relay: 680 miles run by teams of 15-20 people, symbolizing the distance from Atlanta, Georgia to Washington, D.C. $23 from each registration is donated to the non-profit Black Votes Matter, and registration is set at only $30/person.
As of now, there are nearly 650 teams and more than 7,500 athletes that have signed up, and the relay is still more than 10 days away. It’s completely virtual – you can run it from anywhere. If you don’t have a team, there is team matching available through Insta & Twitter (search #WomxnRunTheVote) or you can join one of three umbrella teams of unaffiliated individuals: Team Iron, Team Cobalt, and Team Mercury.
Registration also secures you an invitation to a virtual event featuring LaTosha Brown, Co-Founder of Black Voters Matter. The virtual event is fittingly scheduled for National Voter Registration Day – September 22. Both the relay and the LaTosha Brown event are being organized by Oiselle, a leader in women’s running.
Check it out, find or make a team, and spread the work about this virtual relay! Tell everyone – even your non-running friends … because participants can walk, bike, swim, ride, row, or even play sports with ways to track “distance” with all types of movement!
