Virtual Race Preview: 2020 Run Wilsonville

The year 2020 has been challenging for events, and when the event is a fundraiser, the beneficiary misses out on those funds. Wilsonville’s Fun in the Park event has been a long standing tradition on the first Saturday in August. Since it was canceled this year, the organizers have partnered with Events 37 (the event planning company behind running events like Huckleberry Half, Great Turkey Fumble, and Me.She.We) to get a virtual running fundraiser off the ground.

Run Wilsonville is a month-long distance challenge starting September 1. For $40 you sign up to join the challenge, you choose your distance (25, 50, or 100 miles), and start tracking your miles on your fitness watch, phone, or take photos of your indoor treadmill/bike display. Your distance gets added up when you submit workouts throughout the month. You will also receive a Run Wilsonville t-shirt in the mail.

Registration is open!

All proceeds from Run Wilsonville will go towards Fun in the Park, a Wilsonville nonprofit that has it roots in the Wilsonville Celebration Days (back in the 1970’s) and for the past 20 years has been providing top level entertainment, at no cost, to kids and families in the Wilsonville community and beyond.

Without public financial support, Fun in the Park is facing a financial situation that will not allow it to continue in 2021. We hope that Run Wilsonville will help continue the strong community value that Fun in the Park has always stood for and provided.
