Race Preview: Run or Walk for Shelter 5K & 1 mile (Forest Grove)

As we head into the fall season and the rains start coming back consistently, we all head indoors to stay cozy and dry. While we have the option to be outdoors to pursue our leisure activities or to get to and from the places we need to go, many, many folks are without shelter. The United Church of Christ in Forest Grove, Oregon is hosting their annual 5K run and 1 mile walk to raise funds for the Winter Shelter Program that serves the community of Forest Grove and Cornelius.

This is a FREE race! Seriously. Donations are encouraged and welcome and all proceeds go to the Forest Grove Foundation, which is an official 501 (c) (3) non-profit. While participants enjoy free snacks, awards and prizes, every single penny from donations this race brings in goes to the shelter. I can’t imaine a better way to spend a beautiful October morning out in one of the prettiest places in Oregon!
