It was the great philosophers Donny and Marie Osmond who one said, “I’m a little bit country; And I’m a little bit rock ‘n roll.” Country Girl coming up this August is your chance to be a little bit country; and a little bit rocking runner.
Country Girl, from Terrapin Events, includes half marathon, 10K, and 5K distances options. It’s an all-women’s event (guys can come technically) that has all of the details that Terrapin does to well.

The course starts and finished at Kleiver Memorial Armory, which means lots of Wide Open Spaces (Dixie Chicks are still my favorite country band) and views of the Columbia River and Cascade Mountains. It’s one of those magical places in Portland where you forget how big and how close city life is. Plus, the course itself is super flat and has aid stations every two miles to cheer you on.
Get on down to that Old Town Road and try out this running adventure.

Country Girl Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K (Portland)
When: Saturday, August 3. Half and 10K at 8:30am. 5K at 9:30am.
Where: Kliever Memorial Armory (10000 NE 33rd Drive, #1751)
Register: Online, Mail, or in person at Road Runner Sports or Fleet Feet.
Packet Pick-Up: Friday August 2, 11am-7pm at Road Runner Sports (29 NW 23rd Place) or Race Day starting at 7:30am.
Cost: Half Marathon for $89. 10K for $64. 5K for $51. Kids Race for $8. Youth prices available for all events. All prices increased on race day.
