Mid-Valley Small Race Previews: 2019 Polk County Back to School Dash (Dallas) and Run for the Climate (Salem)

 

Polk Country Back to School Dash 5k in Dallas OR will benefit Dallas Family Night Out/backpack drive. It’s a great family friendly event coming early August. This 5k will start and end at the Dallas United Methodist Church. Runners and walkers alike will follow the Rickreall Creek Trail System ending back at the church. The course is pet, stroller, wheelchair and kid friendly. At the finish line, enjoy local food and drink vendors before heading home.

Salem Run for the Climate

Salem Run for the Climate also on August 3rd will be held in Salem at Minto Brown Island Park. They are excited to announce that this year, there will be both a 5k and 10k timed race with a goal of bringing community members together around the cause of climate change in a entirely new setting. They would like to create a positive, family-friendly walk/run that people can build community and have some fun.

Location: 2200 Minto Island Rd SW Salem, OR

  • 5k walk/run $25
  • 10k run $25
  • Ages 10 and under $10

After July 15th adult prices will go up to $30. Day of registration will be cash only at the covered shelter from 8-8:45a.  All participants will received a wooden medal and goody bag.
