While I have never been a beer drinker, I definitely understand the fun, social aspect of the brewery runs. Labeled as a ‘5K-ish’ event, with no official timing or medals, the Brewery Running Series is a great way to get together with friends in a nice part of Portland. Ecliptic Brewing is located in the neighborhoods of North Portland, and have mapped out an open course meandering north west from their location. This stop on the series is scheduled for July 20th. Their route is not closed to traffic, but there is a map posted up with guides on the route.
With an 11 am start time, this is a run that should not disrupt the relaxing Saturday morning routine much. After the race, participants will receive a craft brew from Ecliptic Brewing, a pint glass or other swag item, and other perks from series partners. Underage participants will get a complimentary non-alcoholic drink. Registration for the run is $30 plus processing fees. You can add an event shirt for an additional ten dollars. A portion of the entry fees will be going to the Oregon Brewshed Alliance, Dollar For Portland, and Life Vest Inside. They encourage carpooling due to limited parking in the neighborhood.
