Race Preview: 2019 Forest Park 5k/10k Trail Runs (Jacksonville)

Forest Park is one of the perks of being a runner in Oregon, and there are lots of trails you can explore. On March 30th, the 2019 Forest Park 5k/10k Trail Runs in Jacksonville will afford you another opportunity to do so.

This run is a great one for trail afficienados and beginners alike. The 5k is described as 90% single track and 10% gravel with 2 climbs totaling less than 800 ft. The 10k will also follow this course but will add a 3rd climb on the trails before the descent to the finish line. You can check out the course details here.

The race takes place just past Jacksonville and the Brit Festival and starts at the main Forest Park parking lot about 1½ miles up Reservoir Road.

This race will benefit the Madrone Trail School and their efforts to keep up the Forest Park Trail system.

Age division ribbons will go to the top 3 and there will be prizes for the 1st overall male and female.

Registration is $28 for the 5k, $40 for the 10k, and a t-shirt will not be included in the fee. They can, however, be ordered separately online before March 1st.

If you’re looking to lace up your trail shoes, this might be a good chance to do so before race season is in full effect!
