Race Preview: 2019 Charlie’s Chocolate 5K and 10K Trail Run/Walk (Ashland)

I know everyone loves a good beer run, or may mix things up with an Oregon winery race, but I’d trade those any day for a race with chocolate! I’m in luck and so are you, as the 2019 Charlie’s Chocolate Run is coming up on Sunday, March 10th in Ashland!

New for 2019 is a new location (the beautiful Emigrant Lake) and route, so if you raced this in the past and loved it, try to make it out again as it is now more scenic, has less traffic, and also a 10K option was added! The Kid’s Dash has been upgraded to a 1-mile run/walk/dash as well.

Racers are encouraged to dress as your favorite Charlie and the Chocolate Factory character, but as always, it’s optional. There will be a costume award, however, and be on the lookout for Charlie himself roaming around! All finishers will receive a Charlie’s Chocolate bar from Branson’s Chocolates and a splendid chocolate delight will be given to the top 3 men and top 3 women overall.

The Oregon Chocolate Festival is a very short drive from the race and you have the option of adding tickets to that onto your race entry and you should know that 10% of the race proceeds will benefit the Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center’s NICU.
