Race Preview: 2019 MAD Ass Run (Madras)

If you have ever wanted to do an ultramarathon without the pressure of times, cut-offs and formality or if you just want to get in a long run with some awesome folks in a beautiful location, MAD Ass Run in Madras, Oregon on January 26, 2019 is the race for you. This race is super casual and offers a 25K and 50K option, however, you can also run any distance you like with an out and back option from the starting line.

There are two courses of this race, both 25K in distance. One course loops east through the Grasslands and the other is an out and back through Willow Creek Canyon to Lake Simtustus. Runners can choose to do whichever course they want and in whatever order they want as long as they let the race officials know so they know who is on the course.

There are zero frills to this run and participants are asked to bring their own food and water. No times are recorded and everyone is asked to bring a potluck dish to share for after the run.

There is NO registration for this but everyone is asked to sign a waiver and is suggested to donate $20 or whatever you can afford to cover costs of the event and with all proceeds going to the Jack Watts Memorial Scholarship. So, go for a no-frills run with a fun group of runners and help a good cause!
