Test Kitchen: Grab-n-Go Oatmeal

One thing I enjoy doing when the weekend rolls around is a little meal prepping for the coming week!  I work full time, have two kids still at home and run (a lot)! I love to bake and cook, but it often goes on the back burner due to lack of time!  If I can get a few simple things done early, my week goes a lot smoother.

Breakfast prep:

I don’t like to skip breakfast!  I’m up at 4:00a to get off to work.  I am not going to make breakfast that early.  First of all, I’m the only one up, 2nd, no, just no! It’s just too early!

As I head out the door, it’s nice to just grab something to go, either to eat on the way, or on my first break at 7:00a.  Grab-n-Go Oats is one of my favorites!

My favorite way to eat my oats, is in the throw away cup.  Then I don’t have to worry about bringing a dirty dish home everyday. These can be bought cheap at Cash-n-Carry.  If you prefer, a glass jar works just as well!

Here are a few of my own mixes!  It’s fun and easy! You can even get your kids involved in making these!

If you are saying, “I don’t even have time for for prep” but know breakfast is important!  Umpqua Oats (shown in photo) has some delicious flavors to choose from and are just as easy to grab-n-go!
