As runners, we all put our feet through the ringer. From soggy runs in the winters to toasty, sweaty runs in the summer, and pounding hard pavement step after step to accidentally kicking roots and rocks out on the trails, our feet really take a beating. I just finished up some long runs, and while my body feels pretty darn good, my feet are definitely tender. Therefore, it seemed like a great time to review HOKA ONE ONE’s Ora Recovery Slide, a sandal with support and comfort in mind.
At first glance, these just scream HOKA. The color scheme is bold (though there are much more muted options available) and the oversized midsole is reminiscent of most HOKA footwear.
They fit really nice and are super comfortable – providing my feet with cushion and support whenever I wear them. I gave up on trying to walk around barefoot a few years ago (my arches just killed me), and these have been a welcome support in the summer heat. I generally wear supportive slippers in the winter, but these make things a little more seasonal. I have become a big fan of these, and so have my feet.
If you are new to wearing slides, I would recommend easing into them. On the first day, I stupidly tried wearing these on a day-long excursion, and by the end of the day I had a hot spot on the top of foot. I blame myself for this, but just be smart (or at least smarter than me). Overall, these have been very welcome and my feet are thanking me. They are also very reasonable priced for supportive footwear and with the quality, I know these are going to last for years to come.
