For a fun family-friendly event this summer, come out to The Dalles on Saturday June 30th for the 2018 FD4 Rocket Run, which will have a 1k, a 3k, a 5k, and a 10k Walk/Run option for you and your family to choose from. This run is part of the 5th annual Fort Dalles Fourth which is a fun festival of events that runs from June 28th thru July 4th.
This race will take place on the scenic River Front Trail in the Dalles and will support the Fort Dalles Fourth Fireworks show. Come to Lewis and Clark Festival Park any time after 6:30AM for day of race registration and get ready to run at 7:00AM. Dressing up in your most patriotic gear is encouraged and selfies are also desired (#FD4RocketRun or #FD4Fest.)
A red, white, and blue shirt will be available with your registration for an additional $10, but only those registered by June 13th will be guaranteed one. There is also a pre-registration deadline of June 28th for this race, so get on it!

If you are looking for something different on June 30th, come out to Monmouth for the 2018 Running Wild 5k Walk/Run & Outdoor Skill Challenge.
This 5k will be at EE Wilson Wildlife Area and not only can you participate in the 5k, you can also try trap shooting with skilled Hunter Education Instructors, fly-casting and aquatic education with Angler Education Instructors, archery with NASP & Hunter Education Instructors, animal track identification, boating safety with the Marine Board, bird identification with the Salem Audubon Society and more fun for all! Whether you want to participate or not, each activity is completely optional. No dogs will be allowed for safety reasons, please.
The cost for this run is only $20 and benefits the Governor’s Toy Drive which helps kids in need. Check it out.
