Small Race Preview: 2018 C.A.T. 5k Walk & Fun Run (Hillsboro)


We all know someone who’s life has been touched in some way by cancer, and the 2018 C.A.T. Walk & Fun Run is a great opportunity to support the cause. This race will be held on the 4th of July in downtown Hillsboro and there will be a Kid’s Dash, a 5k Walk/Run, and a health fair.

C.A.T. stands for “Cancer Awareness and Treatment” and The Tuality Healthcare Foundation has teamed up with AA Sports to bring you this Fun Run. The proceeds from the race will go toward a new mammography van to help bring mammograms to women in need.

Do this race alone or get a team together to do it with you This event will not be professionally timed, but there will be a clock at the finish line, and the walk course is USATF certified. There will be a Kid’s Zone available for the kiddos starting at 6:30AM on race day, and their race begins at 7:30AM. 5k racers will start at 8:00AM. At 10:00AM, those not cleared from the course will be escorted out by a race vehicle and returned to the Civic Center Plaza. Also at 10:00AM, there will be a parade for all to enjoy.

If you register by May 31st, you’ll get a FREE annual or vegetable jumbo pack from Farmington Gardens if you present your receipt when you cash out.

When: Wednesday, July 4th, 2018. Kid’s Dash is at 7:30AM, 5k begins at 8:00AM.

Where: Civic Center Plaza (Hillsboro.) Carpooling or public transportation is encouraged. There is a parking garage located at SE 1st Ave & SW Washington.

Registration Cost: $30 for Adult, $20 for Student (K12 thru college,) Free for youth 5 & younger. You can also create a fundraising page here.

Packet Pick-Up: July 3rd from 12:00PM-6:00PM at the Tuality Health Education Center Auditorium, (334 SE 8th Ave, Hillsboro)
