Get excited! One of Pink Buffalo Racing‘s newest half marathon and 5k event celebrates equality and love! The 2018 Love Liberates Half Marathon & 5k will honor Gay Pride Month and be held on Saturday June 23rd on the new Mill Race Path in Springfield!
Half Marathoners will run along the Mill Race Path, which was just constructed in 2016 and follows a creek that connects with the Willamette River. The course will be on paved paths with rolling, gradual hills. The 5k is also on paved paths and mostly flat. You can view the course descriptions and find maps here. There is a course time limit of 4 hours for the half marathon, and 2 hours for the 5k.
Drop Bag service will be offered for this race. Just make sure it is clearly labeled with your name and phone number and it will be waiting for you at the finish line. Strollers will be permitted on the course, though they should stay to the far right of the course and allow other racers to pass.
Not only will you get beautiful views along the river, but you’ll have 5 aid stations and flushing toilets available. Water, Gatorade, and First Aid is available on both courses. Energy gels and KIND snacks will also be available on the half marathon course. All finishers as well as age group winners will receive medallions. Refreshments will be available after the race while you celebrate your finish!!
When: Saturday, June 23rd, 2018. Half Marathon begins at 8:00AM and 5k Run/Walk begins at 8:30AM
Where: Mill Race Trail Head (Just East of South 5th St & South B St, Springfield, OR.) Free parking will be available at the Booth Kelly Center at 303 South 5th St. Overflow parking will be in the city streets north of the train tracks.
Registration Cost: Half Marathon is $50 through June 22, $60 on Race Day. 5k Run/Walk is $20 through June 22, $25 on Race Day. Ages 60+ and 17 & Under deduct $5. All half marathon participants must be 15 years or older. Short sleeve tech short available for $16 until sold out.
