Finding a group run, whether long or short, can provide good motivation to actually go get it done. Each, we provide info on one or two runs, so keep checking every Thursday at 5p to see what’s new this weekend. And be sure to check back with the social media for runs you like to stay on top of any special events or changes.
This weekend, Coach Jim’s group will get to run at the Tualatin Hills Nature Park. Mileage options are 8 or 16; there are two loops of 8 miles. The runs will start at 15655 SW Millikan Way in Beaverton, which is close to SW Millikan and SW 154th Terrace. The first loop (linked here) will run from the park south on Millikan and across Highway 8 to join up with the Powerline Trail, crossing Farmington and then turning west (right) onto Davis. From there, it’s basically a square with left turns onto SW 170th, SW Bany (which becomes SW Hart), and SW Murray, back to Davis and then back to the trail. This route cuts off the worst of the hills on Powerline.
The second loop (linked here) again starts from the park and after running on the path for a ways, comes out and runs along SW Millikan, SW Murray, and SW Terman (past the Nike Employee Store) with a another little loop-de-do through the Beaverton Creek Wetlands Natural Area.
You can RSVP on facebook to let organizers know you are coming. The run starts at 8a, not 6a as the event page says. Be sure to bring warm clothes to wear home when you’re done, and plan to get a snack shortly after you finish.
