If you are a local college football buff, you know that Oregon State and Oregon have had a rivalry going strong since their first meeting in 1894 – that’s 122 years! For those wanting to get into the Civil War spirit a little earlier than normal, the fourth annual Ducks vs Beavers Rivalry Clash will be held on November 20th at Portland Meadows.
The timed 5K and 10K races feature a unique cross country race point system, where the top 20 finishers of each team (Duck fans and Beaver fans) in each race are awarded points. The team with the most points (the lower the better in terms of place) will win! The top male and female finishers from each race will when gift certificates from Road Runner Sports.
From its inception in 2013, runners of the Rivalry Clash have enjoyed the unique start line where fans of Oregon and Oregon State run in opposite directions towards each other as they run into “battle”. The flat course will make for a fast and enjoyable race for all participants. You can find a map of the 5K course here and a map of the 10K course here. Registration: Online here. Race day registration begins at 8:00am at PIR. Packet pickup will be held on Friday, November 18th at Road Runner Sports in Tualatin (3pm-7pm) and on Saturday, November 19th at Road Runner Sports in Portland (10am-5pm).
